Does anyone know if this court still exists?

Why isn't the RICAGV standing at their soapboxes beating their chests about this?

I called the RI Superior Court, and the gun court still exists. However, it is not listed as a separate "gun court calendar" as it used to be and how I think the law says it is supposed to do.
There is no way you can tell which case is in the "gun court" either by checking court connect, but the cases are done by Judge Krauss. The person I talked to claimed the success rate was about the same as in the mid 90s. The person I spoke with gave an example of where someone was charged with murder with a gun, the success rate was very good. However, I am more interested in the cases where there is no homicides, but where for example a known gang member carried a pistol without a license. Are these cases still being prosecuted, and what is the success rate in those cases (or are the charges being dropped). We will most likely do a cross reference with the gun seizes that Providence proudly put on display every year and see what the real success rate is..

I remember Dawson Hodgson was going to try to use RICO against gang related crimes, I wonder what if the current AG ever tried that.

That's Federal Law, and although I wouldn't mind if some of these gang members end up in Federal Court where the penalties typically are much stiffer and the Federal Prosecutors don't mess around and drop charges either, I think that RI laws are tough enough and the AG should be able to charge and convict these gang bangers that are ruining Providence and RI. The AG can't choose what cases the Feds are going to take either.
