PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Police Sunday arrested a 25-year-old Massachusetts man for carrying an unlicensed gun in his car at Providence Place mall.
Providence Police found the gun, a loaded 45-caliber Glock, after a mall security officer reported a disturbance at the shopping center around 10:30 p.m. Police found the gun, with four rounds, in a back pocket of the driver’s seat in a gray Ford, said Providence Police Lt. Kevin Lanni.
Police would not release the name of the suspect, from Linwood, Mass. Although he had a license to carry a gun in Massachusetts he did not have a license to carry one in Rhode Island, Lanni said.

My guess is very shortly he won't have a MA LTC either. This is something that would not be illegal in about 45 states. But we're special here.

Embarrassing to be arrested with a firearm without a full magazine....

None of my guns are licensed and I would like to keep it that way.

I emailed the editor, trying to figure out exactly what he was charged with, still haven't heard back, doubt I will.

News media rarely state what statute was broken, unfortunately. Same thing with bills that are introduced; they say what the bill will do, but don't mention the bill number. Often the article is based on their own incorrect interpretation of the bill.
If they had given the name of the guy, you could look it up on court connect.
Providence used to list their daily arrest log, but they stopped last summer.

A little while ago, I sent an email to RISP regarding a press release they had sent out. I addressed the email to the Captain who's name was listed on the press release. Never received a response to my question.

So as I guess we all know, they don't like transparency except when it benefits them.

You can always make the request an APRA request.
