Mil Dot Scope Recomendations for under $350?

Postby x45 » Sun Nov 20, 2016 2:22 am

I am shooting a .223 bolt gun only out to 300 yrds but would like the ability to rage targets further out; My choices so far are these two:

I have the leupold scope and it's pretty good. The mildots are very small though and i prefer milrads. You can try mine some time if you would like to.

Get MRAD turrents and not MOA ones. I makes shooting on the fly so much easier.

Go with the SWFA scope. The glass is incredibly clear and I believe it's rated up to .50, so you don't have to worry about being gentle with it.

I have the 3-15 and I love it. Look at the SWFA site the next few days, they always have an amazing Black Friday sale.

SWFA is what I am probably going to go with, will be watching the site for a sale.

I think soon I will be looking for a longer range, 400-500 yards but right now Copicut is where I go for up to 300 yards.

Well I was comparing the two SS classics one has the mil dots w/ MOA turrets and the other is a mil/mil (MQ reticle not dots); You got me thinking though now about the fine line size one is .066"(mil dot) the other is .05"(MQ) and some feel on over cast days or near dusk it may be hard to see the finer lines of the MQ style one. But like everything you have the pros and cons no mater what you buy. My choice is down to one of these two.

I have the MQ reticle and I like it just fine. I'll try to take a pic through it later today.

Yeah it does look pretty good, I like the fact its mil/mil, BUT not sure in reality how big of a deal that really is.....still undecided but this Friday if SWFA has a sale I will be getting one.
