Where to buy powders/primers/etc in RI?

Postby Cyril » Thu Aug 18, 2016 2:38 pm

Where are good places in RI to buy powders/primers, and how do prices/availability compare to buying online (with all those hazmat shipping fees)? Northwestern RI is best for me, but I do make my way to Warwick and Lincoln/Cumberland often enough.

D&L had a pretty good selection the last time I was there.

D&L is good, or Heritage in W Warwick. Prices are about the same. Heritage is a little better organized and seems to have a larger selection of powders

I was in Foster Bear Arms a few months back and prices were in the $40s per pound. I hope that isn't the trend at D&L and Heritage (which are closer to me anyways).

I checked Heritage maybe a month ago. Powders were $20-25/lb. 8lb jugs were something like $130-160. D&L pricing was similar.

That's reassuring. I guess I'll know where to go for a pound of powder; thanks!

The above advice is good. I've found more shotgun & pistol powder at D&L of late, although in the past I've walked in to find a dozen 8-lb jugs of Varget all in a pretty row. I looked for H101/W296 last weekend and wound up buying 3 lb Varget at D&L and an 8-lb jug of W296 at Heritage.

Excellent. That's the way to purchase powder, if you have the funds available.
Good for you. Let's hope supplies stay decent for awhile longer.
Now, to get back to trading with Russia, so we can obtain Murom primers again!
