North Kingstown (School Committee, 5-10-16) will hear "Smithfield School Committee Resolution - Gun Free Schools April 2016" 
correspondence regarding House Bill H7243 and the Senate companion bill S2761.
It's unknown if they will vote to support or oppose it, but Smithfield did vote against it.    
This bill will prohibit those who have a Concealed Carry Permit (CCP) from carrying in schools.
This will do nothing to make our children safer, but rather contrary make them less safe.  
More importantly, it will also leave many unable to defend themselves against attackers since it will 
be known when and where they are most vulnerable. 
The school committee will also hear this resolution on Tuesday April 12th and this email will be sent to them as well.

Glocester Town Council will consider a resolution on April 21st, 2016, to support House Bill H7243 and the Senate companion bill S2761.

Alert! April 12-14th, 2016

This week several anti gun resolutions will be heard by both City/Town council and School committees. Newport, North Kingstown, Warren, and Burrillville will all hear resolutions to support H7243/S2761. Jamestown will hear a resolution on regulating target shooting on private property. Please use the forms (each town has its on form) to contact their local officials.

Tiverton Town Council will consider a resolution to support House Bill H7243 and the Senate companion bill S2761.  
This bill will prohibit those who have a Concealed Carry Permit (CCP) from carrying in schools.

More importantly, it will also leave many unable to defend themselves against attackers since it will

The school committee passed this resolution on April 12th, 2016, and the Town Council will most likely hear this soon.

Jamestown will consider a resolution to regulate target shooting on private property.  
If this resolution passes, target shooting in Jamestown will be severely restricted (hours 9am-4pm) and not within 500' of 
an occupied dwelling unless you have approval by the owner.
